wine of malta - winery camilleri
Camilleri
Wines commenced its operation in 2001 by taking over the production of
wine and wine by-products from the former Master Wine Limited founded
in 1947 by Joseph Camilleri, present Chairman of the company.Since its inception Camilleri Wines has taken the quality of its products to new heights, particularly with the introduction of the Palatino range of varietals wines, as well as a limited selection of premium wines like the locally grown Laurenti premium wines. With 250 farmers working in 1000 tumuli of land all over Malta, Camilleri wines is now in a position to offer the Maltese wine loving market with a range locally grown wines, with new, interesting good quality wines in the pipeline.

The company has resolved to undertake this venture with the aim of becoming quality leaders in the local market. For this purpose the company has committed itself to invest substantially in all fields of the wine making process, with particular emphasis being put upon the quality and presentation of the product.
Unlike
Northern Europe and New World vineyards, our dry summer climate helps
in achieving total control on the water intake by the vines.Small is beautiful; individual attention is given to the vines whereby over 80% of the viticultural work, and all harvesting, is done manually.
The vine varieties that are grown by Camilleri Wines are: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Vermentino, Viognier, Moscato Alexandria, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Grenache, Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo.
