Since
1952 Kinnie is a unique tasting, alcohol-free, natural, refreshing
beverage. It's golden amber colour, and the fact that it is made from
bitter oranges and a variety of aromatic herbs, lend this beverage a
bitter taste which is an excellent thirst quencher. This drink is ideal
on its own, particularly with a slice of orange. It also mixes
excellently with a number of alcoholic drinks and cocktails.
Almost overnight, these distinctive characteristics made it Malta's own
favourite soft drink.
In
1975, a renowned Paris institution - Comité International d'Action
Gastronomique et Touristique - selected Kinnie as the beverage of the
year, awarding it the prestigious trophy 'L'Epi d'Or de la Qualité
Internationale' in recognition of its originality and quality.
In
1984, due to evolving lifestyle trends and an increase in health
awareness, a diet version was introduced and now forms an integral part
of the Kinnie brand. Kinnie Zest was added to the portfolio in 2007 to
target health-conscious, young adults who have an active interest in
health and their wellbeing.
